US Landing Pad Just Right For Playbk Sports

by Feb 21, 2023News

Playbk Sports have accepted an invitation to be a part of San Francisco Landing Pad’s US Export Acceleration Program for scale up businesses aiming to grow their footprint in North America.

This AusTrade opportunity is delivered in partnership with Exit Velocity and will provide the Playbk Sports team with a range of learning materials, networking opportunities and access to mentorship to accelerate the company’s growth in the North American market – the key growth demographic for the business.

As a business that straddles two exploding sectors in sports technology and education technology, the opportunity for growth in the biggest sporting market in the world was the decisive factor in recruiting North American Chief Operating Officer Rick Burton in June, 2022.

Now with the San Francisco Landing Pad opportunity it will provide Playbk Sports with a direct link from its Australian base with other tech founders, investors and innovators in North America to complement the boots on the ground strategy established with Burton’s appointment last year.

Playbk Sports co-founder Jon Shepherd will spearhead the company’s involvement in the program with a keen focus on client acquisition building upon Playbk Sport’s North American trade mission in late 2022.

“Playbk Sports have identified an incredible niche in the global sports tech and ed tech sectors and working with professional teams to scale their reach and impact with fans through online learning is it.”

Jon Shepherd, Co-founder of Playbk Sports

“It was clear from my conversations with numerous American sporting franchises last year that harnessing education technology to reach more fans and increase revenue would be a beneficial addition to existing fan engagement and revenue generation strategies. The Landing Pad Bootcamp is going to accelerate our ability to connect with potential new clients, as well as ensure our administration processes are clearly laid out to aid in our established growth strategy in the US.”

The program contains a number of online topics and webinars to support scale ups in the planning and execution of their strategies, with a goal of enhancing client acquisition and generating greater revenue in one of the world’s biggest economic markets.

“The support of Austrade through the Landing Pad initiative is invaluable for Australian businesses and Playbk Sports are very eager to leverage the program to help us win new work in the States.”
