Pain
Volunteers across Australia relied on in-person training and often felt underprepared, lacking access to flexible, high-quality guidance for planning safe, engaging and developmentally appropriate sessions.
Problem
This inconsistency meant that children’s early movement experiences varied widely depending on the centre, and some coordinators didn’t have the tools or confidence to deliver fundamental movement skills or safe play.
Geographic and logistical barriers prevented many volunteers from accessing uniform training.
Solution
Little Athletics Australia, with Playbk Sports, launched a custom Learning Management System (LMS) offering free, mobile-friendly, self-paced courses for volunteers and helpers.
The content includes educational videos, personalised user dashbaord, downloadable resources and real-world examples focused on movement, play, safety and child engagement.
Results
Volunteers nationwide now have consistent, accessible training tools regardless of location. Centres running Tiny Tots and Introduction to Teaching Little Athletics Skills (ITLAS) can now deliver safer, more fun and developmentally appropriate sessions.
Little Athletics Australia eLearning Platform also features an Inclusion Hub with accesibility front and centre.
